Used Silencers for Cars

At Autodesguaces Alicante we carry a large stock of tested exhaust silencers for cars, vans and 4x4s, with a 1-year warranty and delivery in 24-48h. The silencer reduces combustion noise using internal chambers and sound-absorbing material (mineral wool): when it breaks, corrodes or loses its packing, the exhaust sounds raspy and noise increases while driving.

We supply rear, centre and front silencers in aluminised and stainless steel. Every silencer is visually inspected and gently tapped to detect loose internal parts before it goes into stock.

Types of silencer available

Signs of a faulty silencer

• Raspy or louder sound than usual.
• Internal metallic rattle over bumps or when braking (loose baffles).
• Small visible holes in the casing.
• Excessive water dripping when cold (internal rust build-up).
• Black soot marks around the silencer.

Important: when replacing the silencer, check and replace the clamps and rubber mounts that hold the exhaust to the underbody. Faulty mounting transmits vibration to the cabin and speeds up wear on the new silencer.
