IMPORTANT: Rubber belts are single-use service items and we always sell them NEW, never second-hand. Metal chains, hydraulic tensioners, pulleys and sprockets, however, are available as tested used parts for engines with long-life timing chains.

When to replace the timing gear

Belts are replaced every 60,000-120,000 km or by age (5-7 years at most, even if the car has not reached the mileage). Chains have no fixed service interval but should be checked if there is a metallic rattle on cold start, juddering or fault code P0011-P0019. Incorrect timing can bend valves and damage the cylinder head.
