What is car dismantling?
Car dismantling is the process by which an end-of-life vehicle is taken apart in a controlled way to recover every part that is still in good working order. Each recoverable component is inspected, sorted and made available to other drivers who need that same part to repair their vehicle.
The donor car is the vehicle the part is taken from. For a used part to be reliable, the donor vehicle must come from an authorised facility, be properly identified, and its components must have been inspected before being put up for sale.
Autodesguaces Alicante has been an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) since 2019. Every vehicle being dismantled in our yard is fully documented, with its complete technical record and its available parts identified by part number. This means that when you order a part from a specific donor car, you get exactly what you need for your vehicle.
Car dismantling is especially useful when you need a body part, an interior trim item, or a mechanical or electronic part that is hard to find new, or when the cost of a new part would make the repair uneconomical.

How do I know if parts from the donor car will fit my vehicle?
Compatibility between the donor car and your vehicle is the most important factor in dismantling. Two cars being the same model does not automatically mean all their parts are interchangeable, as there may be differences depending on the year of manufacture, engine, version, factory equipment or destination market.
To confirm compatibility before ordering a part, we recommend following these steps:
- Check the donor vehicle page: each page shows the car's full technical details (make, model, version, engine, year and chassis number). Compare them with your vehicle's details before ordering the part.
- VIN (chassis number): this is the most reliable way to confirm compatibility. With the VIN of the donor car and of your vehicle, we can check whether they share the same factory configuration.
- OEM part number: if you know the OEM part number you need, we can confirm whether the part available on the donor car matches it exactly.
